FAQ'S
We understand that sometimes you just need straight forward answers to some quick initial questions. Here are a selection of Q&A's to the most popular.
1. Can I have a free taster session?
Times have changed and we have had to adapt with them. The need for controlling group sizes and capturing required information of every participant is more important now than ever before. We offer a simple, secure, contactless online registration & payment process, but if you sign up and your child does not love their first session and wish to return, we will provide you with a full no quibble refund and a thank you for giving us a try. We are confident, however, that after that first session, your child will be eager to return!
2. Can we just turn up and pay at the session?
We like people to book with us before attending the session. By booking we can capture all required information & our coaches know you will be attending, keeping the session as safe and organised as possible.
3. Are the sessions indoors or outdoors?
Sessions are held both indoors and outdoors and most sessions do move indoors during the winter months. In the case of extreme conditions & a possible need to cancel a session, we will contact you to give you as much notice as possible. Alternatively, if you have concerns, you can contact us or view our social media channels for any updates that may have been placed.
4. What footwear does my child need?
Normal trainers are more than fine for all sessions. If your child would like to wear football boots as they get older we would ask that you only use ‘Astro’ boots with no metal studs.
5. Does my child need to wear shin pads?
Yes, It is compulsory for all children to wear shin pads during our sessions.
6. Do you have a First Kicks kit?
Yes we do! You can view & order the kit here Official First Kicks kit is not a condition of joining our groups though. We understand it's an additional expense for parents. Kids often like to show off their own football kits to their peers & that's perfectly fine!
7. What happens in the sessions?
First Kicks focus on Iearning essentiaI physicaI, sociaI and cognitive skiIIs that form the buiIding bIocks for future participation in football. Our curriculum is professionally designed to help develop motor skills, promote physical fitness, and build self-confidence in young children as they play in a no pressure environment. Coach to child ratio is kept small to maximise individual development. Above all else we promote FUN!

8. Is First Kicks ‘Term Time’ only?
First Kicks takes place all year round. We don't run on Bank Holidays & usually take a two week break over the Christmas period.
9. Where am I on the waiting list?
Sometimes we do get fully booked and we have to place interested parents/children on a waiting list. When you are on the waiting list and a place becomes available, we will contact people based on their place on the waiting list. We are expanding & will frequently open up new classes, so the wait shouldn't last for too long.
If ever in doubt, just call /e-mail or drop us a message on social media. Our team is always happy to help.
10. Do I have to re-enrol at the end of each block of sessions?
No, we will contact you the week prior to renewal. Your place is secure with us and will continue until you choose to cancel.
